"You heard me Donna."
*without hesitation*
"Class is dismissed, yuno please take Donna to the nurse."

"This is unbelievable, sir! I will be bringing this to Headmistress McGonagall!"

"Just let it go, Donna. There's no point in arguing with a professor."

*Yuna escorts Donna to the hospital wing*

"before you leave maxwell, i wish to speak to you alone."
*howland walks up the stairs to his office*

*Maxwell follows Professor Howland*

"have you ever been affected by an unforgivable curse?"

"No, sir. My mother has, though."

"so you know how they can affect people?"

"No, sir. It happened only a month after I was born. I was too young to remember, and, well..."

*Max looks down*

"Father doesn't like to remember it. He won't tell me what happened."

"well i stuck my neck out for you... so i want you to know what you're using"
*he takes out his wand*
"crucio"

*Max doesn't try to resist. He takes the full force of the spell, but falls unconscious nearly immediately after he is hit*

*howland puts his wand away and whispers to maxwell*
"you used the spell perfectly. i have high hopes for you"
*howland helps maxwell to hospital wing*

*In the hospital wing, Donna has nearly recovered when Howland and Maxwell enter*

Madam Pomfrey: "Professor Howland! What's this about students casting Unforgivable Curses in your class?!"

*howland sets maxwell on a bed*
"you heard right, i'm allowing students to use two of the three curses, imperio and crucio"

Pomfrey: "How could you allow students to use the darkest arts known to man?! I've got half a mind to bring this straight to the Ministry of Magic!"

*getting defensive*
"go ahead i'll tell them the same thing i've told the students and the same thing i'm telling you, neither voldemort nor deatheaters will hesitate to use these spells. they MUST know how to defend themselves against them or your hospital wing could end up a morgue!"

Pomfrey: "I suppose that makes sense... But if I hear that anyone's been using them outside of class, I'm reporting you straight to the Minister! That includes you, Professor."

*he holds up his hand*
"you have my word. because of the fact that the curses are unforgivable, i will be keeping a close eye on the students myself."

Pomfrey: "And I'll be keeping an eye on you, Professor Howland."

*Madam Pomfrey stares at Howland for a second, then takes Maxwell to the treatment room*

*A loud "BANG!" is heard from outside the hospital wing*

*howl and walks toward the door*
"If it's not one thing it's another."
*he opens the doors*
"What's going on out here?"

*Annette is lying on the ground next to a destroyed gargoyle statue. She is unconscious and bleeding from a gash on her left arm*

*howland picks up Annette*
"Looks like you're going to be very popular today madam pomfrey."

*Pomfrey sighs*

Pomfrey: "Bring her in and set her on an empty bed."

*he does as asked*
"Now, I have a class to tend to."
*howland leaves*
