*Lani dodges the attack*

"You'll pay for what you did to Koshka! Dizzy Punch!"

*She delivers a series of rhythmic punches*

*Carina is punched in the face and slides backwards a few feet*

"You're stronger than you look... Looks like I'll have to use my ace in the hole!"

*She raises her arms, her palms pointed at Koshka*

"Heart Swap!"

*A pink heart-shaped energy mass exits Carina's body and enters Koshka's. A similar black shape travels from Koshka to Carina. Carina's body morphs into that of a Necturna, and Koshka's morphs into a Gothitelle's. Carina (in Necturna form) speaks with Koshka's voice*

"Can you fight me now? Now that I've taken on the form of one of your closest friends?"

*Carina laughs evilly*

"You... You monster!!"

*Lani charges at Carina and delivers another Dizzy Punch*

*The attack has no effect on Carina*

"Have you forgotten your friend's typing? She's a Ghost-type. That means your pathetic Normal-type moves won't work on me now!"

*Lani's eyes widen*

"I... can't do anything against you..."

*She quickly turns and runs away from Carina, shouting into the empty space*

"Akumu! I don't know if you can hear me... But if you can... Please, send someone to help!"

*Meanwhile, outside of the pocket dimension...*

*Ane picks up on Lani's calls*

"Lani is in trouble! Someone needs to go back her up!"

*akumu steps forward*
"I'll go"

"Are you sure, Akumu? What if you get trapped in there?"

"I'll be fine besides I can't just stand here while my wife could be in danger. So I'm going."

*Ane opens the portal to the pocket dimension*

"Go, Akumu. Go to your wife. We'll find a way to get you out."

"Thank you"
*akumu enters the pocket dimension*

*The portal closes behind Akumu*

"Good luck, Akumu..."

*In the pocket dimension...*

*Lani is still running from Carina, dodging attacks. A portal opens in front of her, and Akumu steps out. Lani tries to stop, but slips and crashes into Akumu*

"Ah!"

*She frantically tries to explain what happened*

"Akumu! Carina... Koshka... Ghost-type... Help!"

*akumu tries to get her to calm down*
"What's going on."

*Lani takes a deep breath*

"Carina beat Koshka and took over her body! She's a Ghost-type, so I can't do anything to her!"

"it's okay, we have a chance."
*akumu looks at his hand then back at lani*
"i know one ghost type move. hopefully she isn't expecting it."

*Carina, using Shadow Sneak, appears behind Akumu*

"Hello, Akumu."

*She throws a punch at Akumu*

*akumu takes the hit and steps back*
"Hello there Carina good to see you again"
*akumu steps toward Lani and whispers to her*
"do you remember what to do when I use poison gas?"

*Lani nods and motions to her pack*

"I've got it right here."

"Alright, good."
*akumu nods toward Carina*
"I haven't paid you back for your attack on me at the Pokemon center yet have I?"

"Oh, no need to pay me, Akumu. That beating was free of charge."

*Carina leaps back and holds out a hand*

"And if you order now, you'll get to play the Metronome Lottery, absolutely free!"

*She uses Metronome. It turns into Defend Order*

"Aha! Lucky for me!"

*Many tiny insects appear in front of Carina and form a living shield*

"Just try and break through this!"

"Sure thing."
*akumu smirks and holds up his hand*
"Poison gas"
*poison gas emits from akumu and covers the area slipping between the bugs to get to Carina*

*Lani quickly takes out a Pecha Berry and puts it in her mouth. She is unaffected by the poison gas as long as the berry is in her mouth*

*Even though her living shield falls, Carina doesn't falter*

"You think I'm not prepared for that?"

*She takes out a Lum Berry and eats it. The poisoning doesn't affect her*

"Let's try again! Metronome!"

*Metronome turns into Rapid Spin. Carina begins to spin at high speeds and attempts to crash into Akumu*

*akumu follows her with his hand and uses shadowball*

*The Shadow Ball collides with Carina, stopping her attack*

"Yaah!"

*She begins to fall over, but catches herself and stands again*

"Ghost-type?! How could you, a Psychic-type, do such a thing?"

*She glares angrily at Akumu*

"I had faith in all Psychic-kind... That faith has been shattered. Our purity has been tainted by the evils of the Ghosts, Darks, and Poisons."

*Her glare hardens, a look of steely determination in her eyes*

"I must go farther... Not only Pokemon of the evil types... but any Pokemon that has the capability of using moves of those types as well! It is the only way!"

*She turns and faces Akumu. Her expression has gone far past determined, now bordering on demented*

"Starting... with... YOU!!"

*She uses Metronome once more; it turns into Sheer Cold*

"Die! Die!! DIE!!"

*Carina fires a blast of absolute-zero cold at Akumu*

"Akumu! NO!!"

*Lani throws herself in front of Akumu, intercepting the attack. She is hit, and instantly freezes solid*
