"Yes. Ken was my boyfriend back when we lived in Johto. When we moved here, he started meeting with the wrong sort of Pokemon. Before I knew it, he was leaving, joining the Flame Wheel. Maybe seeing me will bring him to his senses! Please, if you can, revive him."

"Synthia! You're okay! I was so worried. I need to explain something. I didn't join the Flame Wheel by choice. I had to borrow money from Boss Typhlosion to buy the boat tickets for us to come to Rinto. When I couldn't find work here, I had no choice but to work for the Boss to pay back the debt."

Ken: "Right. The Flame Wheel, as you know, is a gang wanted by the Rinto police force for many counts of arson and disturbing the peace. It consists of all Fire-types. The highest-ranked members, in order from highest to lowest, are Boss Typhlosion, myself, "Blaze" the Infernape, "Scorch" the Emboar, and my cousin, Ryu the Charizard. All of them know Blast Burn, so be careful. There are rumors going around that the Boss also knows some sort of forbidden technique..."

Kakoro: "Forbidden technique? What do you mean?"

Ken: "Again, this is only a rumor, but my cousin claims he saw the Boss punishing a hitman that failed a mission, and that the Boss used some sort of... golden flame."
